No. 237

Sir,

With reference to your telegram of the 21st ultimo, I have the honour to transmit the enclosed paper of particulars of Mr. Norton-Kyshe's service in this Colony. It is not possible to calculate the pension receivable by him from this Colony as the particulars of his service in the Mauritius and the Straits Settlements are wanting.

2. I have caused a letter to be addressed to the Colonial Secretaries of those Colonies asking that the particulars be sent to you and I shall be obliged if you will inform me in due course what proportion of the pension Hongkong will have to bear.

3. I take the opportunity of informing you that owing to professional and other arrangements made by the Chief Justice he will not now be able to take his leave till the 27th of August.

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

Your most obedient

Humble servant,

Officer Administering the Government.
